Matt Clements
Matt is the Founder and Financial Adviser of Newcastle Empowered Wealth.
For as long as he can remember Matt has had a burning desire to run his own business and create something unique people can connect with. NEW was launched in 2019 with the purpose to guide and educate clients so they can achieve their goals while having a financial expert along with them for the journey.
He passionately looks after his clients and has earnt his reputation amongst them as knowledgeable, qualified and confident with a remarkable way of making the complex seem simple when it comes to finance.
One of Matt’s biggest assets is his education. In addition to being a Financial Adviser Matt is also a Chartered Accountant which provides him with a unique set of tools that enable him to assist his clients in ways that set him apart from other advisers.
Speak to Matt about coffee, sport or Newcastle and you’ll have him hooked. Whether it’s running between Bar Beach and Merewether, leading his team on the soccer field at Charlestown or spending time with his young family, Matt gets his energy from surrounding himself with positive people.
Dani Clements
Dani is the co-creator behind NEW, the whiz behind our communications, including client comms and social media and provides operational support to the team. She is our resident sounding board and shoulder to lean on bringing a calming energy to an intense, fast-paced industry.
Dani moved to Newcastle 16 years ago to complete her Bachelor of Business/Marketing and is now an avid Novocastrian. She spends the majority of her time with her young family, soaking up Newcastle’s beautiful beaches, playing at Dixon Park, shopping up a storm at Westfield Kotara or brunching at her favourite Three Monkeys Café.
Having recently welcomed beautiful baby #2 into the family, Dani has returned from maternity leave and is navigating the work-life balance of parenting and business ownership with her usual positive outlook.
Emily Coombs
Emily is our Paraplanning Manager having joined NEW in 2020 just 12 months after opening our doors. She supports Matt throughout the end-to-end advice process for all new clients, is responsible for implementing new advice strategies and manages our super, insurance and investment platforms.
Emily’s impeccable attention to detail means she never misses a beat and is suited to the Financial Advice industry perfectly. She is an extraordinary asset to our team, with a remarkable memory and has an impressive ability to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of financial advice.
Emily brings a fiery, fun energy to the team. She spends her days having café dates with her little girl, camping with friends, at the gym or with her family on their beautiful property.
Katie McEnearney
Joining the NEW family in May 2022 Katie is our Adviser Assistant and is responsible for the coordination, scheduling and administration of Annual Reviews for all clients. Responsible for creating our Annual Review reports, scheduling clients and the post-review implementation Katie has found her passion at NEW.
Katie is an organisational guru and thrives on creating streamlined systems. She has spent the majority of her career building these skills and has seamlessly adapted to NEW and the Financial Services industry.
While Katie brings a range of established skills to her role, she also brings a vibrant sense of humour and a helpful, reliable attitude. She spends her time with her husband and little boy catching up with friends, weekends away, binge watching Netflix, walking her local Tighes Hill track and soaking up the sunshine at Islington Park.
We now have a clear picture of our financial direction and are very excited for the future! We are so impressed with NEW that we immediately recommended them to our friends and family!
